'Jonathan must be prosecuted for corruption'

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Lagos Chapter, has urged President Mohammadu Buhari to see to it that immediate former president, Goodluck Jonathan is prosecuted for acts of corruption.

Chairman of Lagos CAN, Apostle Alexander Bamgbola commended the Federal Government for its war against corruption during an interdenominational service in Lagos on Saturday, February 13.

Bamgbola said the war must be all-encompassing while giving several instances where former Presidents have been successfully prosecuted and jailed, Punch reports.

He urged the administration to go after looters and “put them where they belong, so that we may have peace in this nation.”

The calls for the inclusion of Goodluck Jonathan in the on going probe into cases of funds diversion, misappropriation and outright embezzlement during the last administration.Jonathan has also been fingered by some of the major characters in the arms funds diversion probe, with the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, stating at some point in his trial, that all the transactions he made were authorised by the former President.
