Terrorists Attack Borno Villages Despite Ceasefire

Suspected Boko Haram militants are said to have attacked two villages in Borno State despite a ceasefire agreement reached between the sect and the federal government on October 17

Despite a ceasefire agreed upon with Boko Haram by the Nigerian government, the terrorist group is believed to have attacked 2 villages in Borno State on Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18.

Suspected members of the sect invaded the village of Abadam on Friday night leaving one person dead and the village of Dzur on Saturday morning leaving at least eight people dead, Reuters reports.

The development was announced by Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh and has been confirmed by the Nigerian Defence Headquarters.
