Governor says aide’s abduction is politically motivated

Amaechi’s Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Freddy Ndigbara was abducted on Saturday, February 21, during an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally.

The Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi has said that the recent abduction of one of his aides is politically motivated.

Amaechi’s Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Freddy Ndigbara was abducted on Saturday, February 21, during an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally.

“Of course, Freddy Ndigbara’s abduction is politically motivated. We are aware that Ndigbara, in league with the Celestine Akpobari, was able to convert over 5,000 PDP members to APC,” the governor said via his Chief of Staff, Tony Okocha.

“There is nothing wrong or extraordinary in what he (Ndigbara) did because we are in a political setting where the in thing now is to win political converts. Winning new convert was what Freddie did before he was kidnapped,” Amaechi added.

The governor also pleaded with Ndigbara’s captors to release him unconditionally.
