‘We will recover all looted funds no matter where they are hidden,’ President says

Buhari also apologized to Nigerians for the fuel scarcity which is currently plaguing the country and assured that the government was working hard to bring it to an end.

President Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that his administration will recover all the funds looted from Nigeria no matter where they are hidden and no matter how long it will take.

Buhari made the vow today, December 22, 2015, during the presentation of the 2016 budget at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.

“We have demonstrated a strong will to fight corruption. I am sure you will agree that the sheer scale of corruption and impunity of the past explains in part, the economic challenges we now face,” Buhari said.

“On these initiatives, and the many more to come, we shall not be deterred. We will pursue the recovery of everything that belongs to the people of Nigeria. No matter where it is hidden. No matter how long it will take,” he added.
