Readers wants looters property confiscated

50% of Pulse Nigeria Poll voters think confiscating looter's properties will serve as just punishment.

It is time to kill corruption

There is anger in the land as many Nigerians seem to agree that any government official caught looting should have all his wealth and property confiscated and seized by the Federal Government, believing this will serve as a deterrent to others who think it is right to steal from the public coffers.

The poser was raised after labour unions in the country like the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Council (TUC), and other civil society groups have called on the National Assembly to enact a law that will make corruption and looting of public funds by government officials an offence punishable by death as practiced in some communist countries like China.

But other sections of the society think nothing will be achieved by putting the looters to death since their families will be left behind to enjoy the ill gotten wealth. These set of people think confiscating their property will render them with nothing and that would be just punishment for them.
