Borno Gov. Kashim Shettima CAlls GEJ Deaf And Dumb Over Chibok Girls

The Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Kashim Shettima has lashed out at President Goodluck Jonathan, calling the Nigerian leader deaf, dumb and blind over the abduction of over 200 female students of the Government Secondary School, Chibok, by the violent Boko Haram insurgents.

The state which has been the hotbed of Boko Haram activities, including bombings and killings, has become the center worldwide focus in the past one month since the unfortunate incident but Shettima who is the chief executive and chief security officer in the state, has shifted the blame to the Jonathan led Federal Government, labelling him as very slow in handling the rescue operations for the girls.

Speaking to the CNN in an interview, Shettima laid all the blame on Jonathan, saying the president failed to react fast to the situation, stating that if anything should happen to any of the girls, President Jonathan should be held as the murderer. He also urged the Nigerian authorities to negotiate with Boko Haram insurgents so as to secure the release of the girls.

This is what he said:

If I have to talk to the devil to secure the release of the girls, I will do so.

President Jonathan did not act on time and did not talk to me over the kidnappings until 19 days after.

Is Shettima right in his assessment of GEJ?
