Often times men are confused on what to do when they get invited to any kind of event that involves a dress code. The trouble is how do I stand apart when a dress code’s been given.
You don’t have to look exactly like every other man at the event and we’re here to show you how with these four tips:
Cocktail event: Most men opt for the traditional black tuxedo, white shirt and black tie. You can stand out in a subtle touch of colour like a red or burgundy velvet blazer with black tuxedo trousers. Stick to the traditional white tuxedo shirt and a black silk bow tie and a black or burgundy patent leather shoe.
Ditch the office look: Most men just lose the tie and they think their ready for a party. You should rather pair a solid coloured blazer on a plaid or patterned trouser. Also, you could fasten your shirt all the way without a tie and then accessorize.
Black tie revamped: It’s fine to do a traditional tuxedo, except you’ll need to update what goes with it. Stick to your fitted navy or black suit but instead of a button up shirt, try a turtleneck sweater.
The Smart Man’s Casual: Most men’s go to is a blazer paired with bad fitting denim. You will look creative in fitted dark denim pants with a button down shirt and a shawl collared sweater in place of a blazer. Finish off the look with nice sneakers or Chelsea boots.
