This year, Volkswagen is currently facing the biggest business-related crisis ever.

Unfortunately, things are not getting better as the German automanufacturing company has just recalled 2.4 million cars.

However, the automaker is making plans to get better in order to stay relevant in the future.

Herbert Diess, an executive, revealed that Volkswagen is geared towards designing electric cars.

Although, the expected date is unknown, the car will debut as a sedan, the Phaeton, and provide 150-310 miles of travel.

This is probably the best plan for Volkswagen to remain in the car making business, as Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Motors, predicted.

According to him, electric cars are the future.

“There must have been lots of VW under pressure—they’ve run into a physical wall of what might be possible so trickery was the only option. Any car company that doesn’t go electric will go out of business. If I was taking over VW, I’d go the other way and aim to be a leader [in clean vehicles].”

Do you think it is a good idea for Volkswagen to make electric cars?
