Volkswagen has been in the news lately due to it's admission concerning U.S. vehicles emissions tests.

At least 11 million cars could be affected worldwide, including Audi's 2.1 million cars.

Now, the German carmaker has revealed plans to recall all the vehicles affected by the ongoing scandal.

According to the newly appointed CEO, Matthias Müller, a “comprehensive’’ refit plan has already been drawn and will be submitted to regulators, who will ensure that it abides by emissions standards.

Volkswagen spokesman, Christian Buhlmann, tells The Wall Street Journal, "[this will be] the biggest service action in the company’s history, " referring to the 11 million affected diesel-powered vehicles.

This is being done in order to meet the October 7 deadline set to bring diesel emissions into line with the law.

“We are facing a long trudge and a lot of hard work. We will only be able to make progress in steps and there will be setbacks. The new company structure is a first step and the basis for a modernisation of VW, for a new and better company."
