Tesla Motors has done really well for itself this year.

So well, it has succeeded in dominating the electric car making industry.

Based on this, it is safe to say that Tesla Motors is the biggest competition for automanufacturers.

However, Nissan's North American senior vice president of manufacturing and supply chain management, John Martin, does not agree.

While speaking at a panel discussion during the Rainbow/PUSH conference in Detroit, he made it clear that he does not think Nissan should fear Tesla.

“Lots of people are calling Tesla a disrupter. They are not. People ask me: ‘When are you going to compete with Tesla?’ And I ask them, ‘When is Tesla going to compete against me?"

He went on to attack Google and Apple, who are both branching into the car manufacturing industry.

According to him, manufacturing costs and reduced profit margins will be an issue for both companies.

About two weeks ago, Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk, had something similar to say about Apple's entry into the automotive industry.

"Seriously: It’s good that Apple is moving and investing in this direction. But cars are very complex compared to phones or smartwatches."
