Aston Martin RapidE concept

Aston Martin unveiled theElectric RapidE Concept in 2015.

The concept car had four separate electric engines, that power each of the car’s wheels, and 800 HP.

While this is quite impressive, it was just a concept.

At the signing, Aston Martin CEO, Andy Palmer, shed light on this new partnership with LeEco, part of Chinese technology group,

“Aston Martin are dedicated to developing a range of cars with low emission technologies. We have been encouraged by the project speed and technical depth shown by Letv in the development of the RapidE concept towards full production," he said.

Noteworthy is the fact that the Chinese partner is the same group behind Faraday Future, an American electric car startup.

The Chinese-funded EV company came onto the car scene, last year, and proceeded to blow everyone's mind at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show.

Faraday showed it's capability with the FFZERO1a Batmobile that promises to go from 0-60 under three seconds, with a top speed over 200 miles per hour, and 1,000 horsepower.
