This Chinese-funded EV company managed to stay hidden for so long due to it's refusal to share details of it's cars.
However, the company is finally showing it's potential with it's concept, the FFZERO1.
Launched at the CES, this car promises to go from 0-60 under three seconds, with a top speed over 200 miles per hour, and 1,000 horsepower.
Nick Sampson, a senior VP at Faraday in charge of R&D and engineering, revealed more details concerning the car's platform, called the Variable Platform Architecture, to The Verge.
"That platform is done on a very modular and flexible basis such that we can change the size of the platform. We can change the number and power of the drive systems. We can change the physical size and electrical size of the battery packs, so we can get bigger and larger packs and smaller packs both on the electrical size and physical size because of the modularity of how the battery architecture is being done, which is unique compared to anybody else in the industry. The underlying story is all about the platform that’s being built."
A glass roof, white carbon fiber interior, a smartphone mount in the center of the steering wheel, the Halo Safety System, a helmet that feeds the driver water and oxygen, and a instrument panel, designed to gather biometric data about the driver, are some of it's features.
