Wizkid's role on 'One Dance' has split opinions in Nigeria, both receiving praises and criticism. The singer appears twice on the song, faintly combining his vocals with dance-immersive percussion as he fires off a phone-edit bridge.

Wizkid is is not the first local pop star to get mixed reactions on an international collaboration. D'banj has also been at the receiving end of both sides after his limited role on Kanye West’s ‘Mercy’, released in April, 2012.

Drake is yet to claim the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with a personal single, although he has achieved the milestone twice with Rihanna on her 2010 hit song 'What's my name', and 2016's 'Work'. He was expected to achieve that with 'Hotline Bling', but a technical error from Apple Music halted that. "Will 'One dance' be Drake's first number 1 and potentially Wizkid's?
Wizkid, 25, has a planned solo EP to be released in Nigeria this year.
