Three players over the age of 23 are allowed for every team for the Olympic Games and Mikel Obi has been confirmed to be one of them.
The other over-age player in the squad is goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi, 29.
In the 18-man list released on Friday, July 22, Siasia also includes established Super Eagles players, William Troost-Ekong and Oghenekaro Etebo.
Siasia and his men are currently in the United States of America where they are camping ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
The rest of the players will join up with the squad in Brazil.
Nigeria have been drawn in Group B alongside Group B Sweden, Colombia and Japan who they will first face on August 4.
Their second game is against Sweden on August 7 before facing Colombia three days later on August 10.
Nigeria, Gold winners in this event at the 1996 Games in Atlanta, United States qualified for Rio 2016 by finishing among top three at the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations played last year.
Siasia's men beat Senegal 1-0 in a semifinal game which confirmed their qualification to the 2016 Games.
They eventually won the tournament making them the number one team in Africa ahead of the 2016 Games.
Nigeria’s U-23 team have been to the Summer Olympic Games six times, first making an appearance in the 1968 Games in Mexico City, Mexico.

They got Silver, losing the final to a Lionel Messi led Argentina in Beijing 2018. That team was coached by Siasia who would be hoping to go one place better this year.
