Younger sister to the Duchess, Kate Middleton, Pippa, 32, debuted her gigantic engagement ring today, July 19, 2016, outside of her home in London.
Jewelry expert, Michel O'Connor describes Pippa's vintage inspired bling, saying:
"Pippa's vintage-inspired, deco-style engagement ring is actually very much on-trend.
"The Ascher-cut center diamond looks to be about 3 carats. It's set in a platinum bezel setting surrounded by white, brilliant-cut diamonds, adding about another 1.5 carats.
"The setting not only adds a modern 'halo' style, but it also protects the center diamond from damage, giving it long-term wearability."
He also goes on to estimate the price of the ring at a whooping $80,000.
Pippa and Matthews who have been dating for four years confirmed their engagement and upcoming nuptials with a statement which read:
"Miss Pippa Middleton and Mr. James Matthews are delighted to announce they became engaged on Sunday, July 17, and plan to marry next year."
