The bride-to-be is the last daughter of Nigeria's former military ruler, Ibrahim Babangida and the groom is said to be a businessman who also holds the traditional chieftaincy title of Sarkin Sudan Gombe

The ceremony will take place this weekend at the Hilltop Villa of the former military President in Minna and is to commence at 2.30 pm, after the weekly Juma'at prayers.

Halimat is the second daughter and last child of the family. She was born by his late wife Maryam.

There are still concerns over the health of the bride's father, after his recent return from Germany. He has kept off social events since then but that apparently has not stopped preparations for the big ceremony.
