A trio of teenagers have invented a condom that changes colour when it comes into contact with a sexually transmitted infection.
Teens invent condoms that can detect STIs
The young inventors have been invited to the Buckingham Palace for winning the award.
The advanced condom called S.T.EYE was show in London at the Teen Tech Awards. The condom has an indicator that makes the condom change colour when it picks up an STI. The condom won the health category at the awards.
The special condom was created by Daanyaal Ali, 14, Muaz Nawaz, 13 and Chirag Shah, 14.
"We created the S.T.EYE as a new way for STI detection to help the future of the next generation," said Daanyaal Ali who is from Isaac Newton Academy in Illford.
"We wanted to make something that make detecting harmful STIs safer than ever before, so that people can take immediate action in the privacy of their own homes without the invasive procedures at the doctors. We've made sure we're able to give peace of mind to users and make sure people can be even more responsible than ever before" he further said.
