A man who lost vision in his one eye when he was a teen has become an internet sensation after adopting a precious puppy who also has only one eye.

Jordan Trent, 32, from Georgetown, Texas, took in the one-eyed pup over the holiday after he realized that no one wanted the adorable dog because of his condition. Daily Mail reported.

He said he was inspired to adopt a puppy missing an eye when his kids pointed out the similarities between them.

Trent decided to adopt the puppy after his kids pointed out that the canine's missing eye reminded them of their father's left eye, which was damaged in an accident when he was 15.

"My kids said 'Hey Dad, there's a dog that's blind in his eye just like you,'" Trent said. "I looked at it and it was the cutest dog in the world. He was the last of the litter. We scooped him up and brought him home."

Jordan admitted that he had no idea that his sister was posting the picture of him, but noted that it seems to be a 'big deal' because people have been contacting him ever since.

'We're having a blast with all the attention and Instagram fame. It's a lot of fun,' he added.

The dog was named Shiner and Jordan said he is a wonderful addition to his family.

'My wife and kids love Shiner,' he said. 'He is playful and full of energy. He fits our family perfectly'
