10-year old boy heartwarming gesture towards blind deer goes viral
A 10-year-old boy's act of kindness has gone viral after he was seen walking a blind deer from one patch of grass to another.
According to the Reddit user, the child has been doing it every single day since the deer showed up.
Many were touched by how kind the youngster was to the animal, while others were slightly worried about the fate of the deer. One user commented on the post, "That is so sweet and that kid [has] a great heart. I am a bit worried for the deer though with dogs, teenagers, cars, etc. around. Wouldn't it be better to bring her to a shelter or at least some fenced in field where she would be safe?"
Agreeing with this statement, the original author responded with, "My wife and I took this photo yesterday after seeing this happen for a few days. My wife called the local wildlife rescue group a few towns over. They have a vet on staff and will be picking the animal up today to bring her a forest preserve where she can be looked after and stay out of traffic…I wish I could do something for the kid. He's probably going to miss her."
He added that as a gesture of goodwill, he and his wife are going to give the boy a framed photo of the deer and offer to take the 10-year-old to visit the wildlife reserve "whenever he wants to go."
What a hero.
It is hoped that the blind deer is healthy and happy at her new home.
