Declawing of cats banned in New Jersey

Many reports say that nearly 25% of cats in North America have been declawed.

A cat with a sharp looking claw.

Cats are one of the commonly kept pets in North America alongside dogs.

Their fluffy silky effect on the skin often comes with a lot baggage. Scratching!

This is why cat owners adopted a process called Onychectomy, a way of controlling the scratching by the animal.

However, animal rights groups think this is an inhumane conduct which needs to be scrapped.

That is why the state of New Jersey has passed a law prohibiting the declawing of cats.

Onychectomy is said to cause serious pain to the animal after it has been performed.

It also deprive cats from their natural abilities.

According to Little Things, it’s estimated that nearly 25% of cats in North America are declawed, and some people still don’t think the practice harm them.
