FRSC highlights benefits of limiter

The reduction of speed-related accidents and a decrease in fuel consumption have been highlighted as the benefits of the speed limiting devices.

Avoid accidents by obeying traffic rules

According to the Deputy Corp Marshal, Training, Standardisation and Certification, Mr Ademola Lawal, road users need to use these devices as they have numerous benefits.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, he listed the advantages of this device.

"It (limiter) is yielding results; even without the enforcement; and some organised private sector cab operators have started using it.

Checks show that some private operators have started using it because they know the advantage.

They would spend less in terms of fuel; and they would reduce the rate of the crashes on their vehicles,’’ he added.

Mr Lawal also advised motorists to reduce their chances of getting into accidents, during the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.

"I will advise them to drive safely, obey traffic rules and consider other road users.

It is also important that motorists exercise patience with other road users so that we all can have a joyful festivity", he added.
