Traffic violations leads to accident in Abuja

A Police van's failure to obey basic traffic rules and regulations resulted in a accident, leaving five injured people.

Accidents can be reduced with speed limit device

According to an eyewitness, the accident was caused by the driver of the "proforce’’ number NPF 2647D van, Agada Daniel of the police FCT command, who committed two traffic offences, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Daniel allegedly drove one way, against traffic, while speeding, colliding into an upcoming vehicle on Sani Abacha barracks road, FCT.

"The driver of the bullion van decided to take one way and with the rate of his speed, it rammed into an Abuja painted taxi marked Kaduna, DKA 601XA.

As a result of the speed, the driver collided with the oncoming vehicle; another painted taxi driver.

It is so unfortunate that the law makers are the law breakers in this country,’’ the eyewitness added.

This accident left five seriously injured people, including the staff of the Halogen security company in Area 3, FCT, who were rushed to the hospital by NEMA team.

The FCT police command is yet to release a statement concerning the incident, which occurred on August 8, 2016.
