5 AWESOME things you can do with Google Search

Google Search trip-maker

Google has cemented its place as the most popular and widely used search engine in the world - it is even used as a verb now (Google it).

But outside of just searching for news or Wikipedia pages, there is a lot more that Google Search can do that goes beyond being just a search engine.

I already told you guys that you can find your phone, literally, with Google, but here are five more amazing things you can do with Google:

- OK Google: Nearly every PC or smartphone has a built-in microphone and Google has developed a way to make use of them because, well, they can. You can simply say "OK, Google" and Google's voice assistant will go live. For example, you can simply say "OK, Google. Show me the nearest restaurant" and you will get a list of restaurants within a certain distance from your location. Cool, right?

- Comparison: If you are big on food and maybe considering being an active member of the fitfam gang, you can simply use Google to compare foods by putting keywords like 'Rice Vs Beans', you will be surprised.

- Translate stuff: You can also translate an open web page into the language of your choice within minutes (if you have a good Internet connection). This means that you don't need to understand the language a page is written in to read the information it offers, Google will help with that. You can also translate to our local languages (Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa).

- Word Definitions: Unsure of a spelling? Wonder what a word means? Google can help with that too. Maybe you just watched a Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon video and you want to confirm if the bald headed former senator actually knows that much English, you only need to type it into the search and you will get all kinds of information on that word - synonyms, definitions, antonyms, even a voice pronunciation of the word.

- Vacation Planning: Google just launched this feature yesterday. It is basically a Google version of Wakanow, TripAdvisor and other platforms that help you plan your vacation or business trip. A search will give you broad info on flight fares, hotel prices, places of interest, and so on.

I will be bringing you more cool stuff to do with Google search so stay tuned to Pulse Tech for all of that and more tech stuff.
