Windows 10's facial recognition is supposed to function as a secure way to sign in to your PC, but just how good is it?

Apparently it seems to be good enough to deny even your doppelganger access. Reports reveal that The Australian has conducted an informal test during which it tried to fool Windows using sets of identical twins, and the software wasn't tricked once. Even when the 'evil' twins attempted to spoof the camera by adjusting their hair or removing their glasses the system maintained its 100 per cent record.

It's important to state that this test was conducted using a small sample of people, and that the PC used to conduct said test (a LenovoYoga 3 14) had a sophisticated depth-sensing camera.

There's still a possibility that the right set of twins could dupe the Hello system, or that another camera might not be so brilliant.

However, this suggests that Windows' face detection is good enough to eliminate some of the frustrations you experience with other devices. And that's an important win for security and convenience.
