Shola Adekoya announced as CEO of eCommerce platform

According to the company, Adekoya will manage the day-to-day running of Konga and will work with company's board of directors

Acting CEO of Konga, Shola Adekoya, who took over from founder, former CEO and now chairman, Sim Shagaya, has been confirmed as the CEO of the eCommerce company.

This was made known via a release from the company.

Adekoya has over 17 years of business and management experience in finance, telecom, logistics retail, and transportation across Europe and Africa.

According to the company, Adekoya will manage the day-to-day running of Konga and will work with company's board of directors to further consolidate the company's position in Nigeria's eCommerce space.

He will also identify new business opportunities and prepare the company for the emerging "4th industrial revolution".

Adekoya joined Konga in 2013 as its Chief Financial Officer, before becoming the Chief Operating Officer much later.

“I look forward to our continued efforts at advancing the development of new and innovative consumer solutions in Konga. We are committed to delivering excellent experience to our customers and I believe that we will be at the forefront of solving Africa’s problems through Technology. Our overarching business goal is to be the engine of trade and commerce in Africa and this simply means that we will heavily contribute to economic development and influence how trading is done in Africa. We will introduce new retail and marketplace strategies to ensure the seamless delivery of an engaging interactive shopping experience to consumers online," said Adekoya on his appointment.

He has since updated his LinkedIn profile to reflect his new position.
