Last week, we told you that Jay Z's Tidal was now covered by T-Mobile and that Taylor Swift had shown her support for the streaming service, see more here, but over the weekend, more celebrities joined the Tidal movement.
The artists supporting Tidal include his wife, Beyoncé, Kanye West, Rihanna, Madonna, Coldplay, Usher, Nicki Minaj and more heavyweights.
Jay Z plans to unveil Tidal's artist-friendly game plan on today at New York City's James A. Farley Post Office at 5 p.m.
Tidal's website describes the service and pricing as such: "Introducing the first music streaming service that combines the best High Fidelity sound quality, High Definition music videos and expertly Curated Editorial."
Tidal will compete with platforms like Spotify as well as Apple's nearly ready and revamped music service involving Beats Music.
What impact this new service will have on the streaming landscape is still unknown, but that has not stopped some online observers from poking fun at Spotify, with some going so far as to tag their Tidal tweets with "#RIPspotify."
