Regulators to commence investigations into Google's Android mobile OS

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is looking into antitrust allegations levelled against Google.

Google CEO, Sundar Pichai is in Lagos

Reports have previously surfaced on the Internet suggesting that the EU regulators could be looking into antitrust allegations against Google and its Android mobile OS and now more reports are saying that Us regulators may also be interested in looking into Android.

According to report by Bloomberg, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is looking into antitrust allegations levelled against Google.

There had been reports that the EU regulators were looking into Google’s own apps being bundled with new Android devices and the issue of manufacturers having to use all of Google’s apps on their devices whether they wanted to or not.

At the moment there are no details on what the FTC investigation may be about, but it is possible that the US regulators could be looking into Google for the same reason as the EU regulators.
