Apple launched Apple Music in June to compete in the streaming space with the likes of Tidal and Spotify

According to reports, Apple has revealed that more than 11 million people have signed up to their free three month trial of Apple Music.

Just as the company announced when it launched the service, there are two different versions available - a single plan which costs $9.99 a month and a family plan which costs $14.99 a month.

“We’re thrilled with the numbers so far,” says Apple’s senior vice president of Internet software and services, Eddy Cue, adding that of that sum 2 million have opted for the more lucrative family plan at $14.99 a month for up to six people.

Cue also revealed that the tech giant's app store had a record July with $1.7 billion in transactions for the month.

It will be interesting to see how many of those 11 million trial subscribers Apple is able to turn into paid subscribers when the three-month free period ends.
