Ede Poly Student Wins Laptop in Season 2 of #PulseStudentPoetry Contest

Agarau is going home with a Lenovo Thinkpad after his/8-line poem came tops in the Student Pulse student poetry contest

A polytechnic student, Adedayo Adeyemi Agarau, has emerged winner of Season2 of the  #PulseStudentPoetry Contest which was announced on May 2nd 2014.

Simply titled , Agarau's poem, which laments the sorry state of the Nigerian nation was a clear winner with an unprecedented 6239 votes (2800 shares, 2376 comments, 493 retweets, 411 likes, 158 tweets and 1 Google +1's.

Behind our Champion for May,  in 2nd place, is Judy Borntwice Sonwa  who won the first round. Her soulful poem, , polled an impressive 5477 votes (2800 shares, 2256 comments, 400 likes, 18 tweets, 2 Google +1s and a meagre 1 retweet).

In 3rd place is Joyce P Nwanokwai. Her poem, got a total of 103 votes (82 shares, 12 tweets and 9 comments).

Agarau, @poetic_twainer on Twitter, is the convener of the 'Epistles of Lies' an international anthology of politically themed poems and his poetry has a large fan base on Facebook.

He says winning the contest means a lot for his academics and literary career.

"I am happy because winning this laptop is a boost to my education and my writing. This is not just about winning the laptop, but also for the name, the bragging rights," he told Student Pulse.

Agarau is presently a National Diploma II student of Nutrition and Dietetics Department at the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State.

A winner has also been announced for the Season 2 of the #PulseStudentSelfie contest in the person of @HypeKing1 whose black and white selfie got the highest number of votes and won him a Lenovo Thinkpad.
