Cody Cousins, a 24-year-old student of Purdue University who was convicted of shooting, stabbing and killing his classmate has committed suicide in prison.

Cousins, convicted for murder, decided to take his life a few months into his 65-year prisons sentence.
Cousins was serving a 65-year-jail term after he was convicted of murder and sentenced by Judge Thomas Busch on the 19th of September.
reports that Cousins was found in his cell with cuts on his arms and neck on Tuesday and was confirmed dead around 9pm same day.
A spokesperson of the Indiana Department of Correction (DoC, Doug Garrison, told the Courier that Cousins is believed to have cut himself with a plastic razor.
"It appears he used a razor to self-inflict wounds to his neck and arms," Garrison was quoted as saying.
According to the coroner's report, the neck cuts was the cause of his death.
Cousins had on January 21 shot, stabbed and killed his 21-year-old classmate, Andrew Boldt in the Purdue Electrical Engineering Building.
