Be Impatient With Evil... Have Faith In Nigeria, Fmr. Minister Urges Students
A former Minister of Justice has urged Nigerian youth to keep their frustrations in check and work for a better Nigeria
A former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Kanu Agabi, made the call while speaking at a public lecture organised by the Law Students Association of National Open University on Thursday 3rd of June in Abuja.
Agabi decried the prevalence of corruption which has left many Nigerian, especially youths, frustrated but urged the students to remain patient and keep their frustrations under check.
"I urge you to be patient. We must not allow ourselves to be ruled by our frustrations,” he advised.
He added that the students must however contribute to the fight corruption.
“The patience I want from you is not the patience with evil. We should be impatient with evil," he said.
The former minister also advised the students to be patriotic and have faith in the nation.
"We must have faith that the will of God for our country shall prevail and our expectations shall not be disappointed forever,” Agabi said.
“We should stop seeing the nation as an artificial creation and see it instead as God's gift to us.”
He urged the students to live up to the role of the youth as agents of change.
