President Muhammadu Buhari, to sack the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Julius Okojie for his alleged role in the removal of staff of university Staff Primary Schools from universities' payrolls.
The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), made the call on Monday in Sokoto.
SSANU National President, Comrade Samson Ugwoke, said Ojkojie's removal is necessary because his action was an attempt to breach the peace in the Nigerian university system.
He pleaded with Buhari to remove the NUC boss while also calling for the resinstatremnt of 58 members of staff of the Usman Danfodio University Staff School that were sacked last year as well as the withdrawal of the March 5, 2014 circular in which the Federal Ministry of Education directed Universities to remove their staff schools personnel from their pay rolls.
Ugwoke noted that Okojie allowed himself to be used by some staff of the Education Ministry to render thousands of Nigerians jobless.
