24-yr-old hacked to death in daylight cult war

A 24-year-old man, Fatai Suleiman, has been killed by suspected cultists in a daring daylight robbery at Iya Agan Street, Off Old Apapa Road, in the Oyingbo area of Lagos.

 

A 24-year-old man, Fatai Suleiman, has been killed by suspected cultists in a daring daylight robbery at Iya Agan Street, Off Old Apapa Road, in the Oyingbo area of Lagos.

Eyewitnesses said Suleiman was hacked to death by the cultists during the robbery which occurred around 4pm on Sunday.

According reports, the cultist are members of the Omo Kogbagidi and Otto boys groups on a reprisal attack against rival cult group Olokodana Fagbayimu boys.

Numbering over 20, they invaded the area and started shooting sporadically before looting houses, shops and robbing residents.

A resident of Iya Agan Street, identified as Omole, told Punch that the cultists hacked Suleiman several times and waited to be sure he was dead before leaving his corpse.

"They saw Fatai (Suleiman) in front of a house and attacked him with machetes," Omole said.

"They hacked him until he was dead.

"A man was shot in the eyes during the robbery."

He called on the government to disarm the cultists, alleging that they were armed by politicians during the election period.

"These cult boys are having a field day.

“The government should partner with local vigilance groups and community leaders to fish out these boys and lock them up in prison.

"The hoodlums should be made to return all the guns in their possession.”

Student Pulse gathered that Suleiman’s relatives are trying to get his corpse from the authorities.
