Inmates at the Kuje Prisons, Abuja have been awarded their Nov/Dec WASSCE certificates after jointly scoring a cumulative 67 distinctions and 94 credits in the 2014 edition.
The inmates were part of the 38 inmates who sat for the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) organised examination, sponsored by NUGA BEST, a non-governmental organisation, Punch reports.
The results of seven candidates were withheld.

Tanko said the candidates' impressive performance shows the Nigerian Prisons Service' commitment to humane confinement, reformation and rehabilitation of inmates.
According to him allowing the inmates to access educational facilities at all levels keeps their hope of a successful return to the large society alive.
He revealed that as many as 41 inmates have enrolled for various degree programmes at the facility’s National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Special Study Centre.
gathered that the candidates also had 73 passes and 41 fails jointly.
