25 former candidates who sat for either the school or private examinations conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) have returned their results, confessing that they were achieved fraudulently.
Sunday Sun reports that the former candidates, now born again, approached the examination council through letters and personal visits, confessing the various illegal means through which they acquired their certificates when they wrote the examinations at various periods.

The council, according to a senior officer, wrote to the candidates, explaining what they were expected to do - return the certificates in accordance with the regulations guiding the conduct of the examinations.
Those who complied with the directive returned their certificates to various WAEC offices nation wide, and the council took their cases to the Nigeria Examinations Committee, which met recently in Lagos and cancelled the returned 25 certificates.
