Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State has inaugurated the Kano-Borno Boarding Primary School to provide free education for children orphaned by Boko Haram insurgency.

Children orphaned by the Boko Haram insurgency can now hope for an education as Kano State prepares to give them free education at the newly inaugurated Kano-Borno Boarding Primary School.
Speaking on Tuesday at the inauguration of the school, Kwankwaso said the government initiated the project give a new lease of life to the orphans.
“I hope the gesture will greatly reduce the burden on Borno State in taking care of all the children who have been orphaned as a result of the crisis in the area,” he said
The governor said state governors, individuals and corporate organisations in the country should reach out to Boko Haram victims.
gathered that about 100 children who have lost their parents will be given free education, provided blankets, mattresses, pillows and free medical care at the new school.
Efforts are being made by governments and individuals in states worst hit by the insurgency.
In late March, a Borno politician, Alhaji Abubakar Kyari, paid the fees for 303 displaced students.
