Education minister cancels PTA fees
Also, the schools will have to get the approval of the ministry of education before any development projects is carried out.
Daily Trust reports that the minister also directed that PTA fees should not exceed N5,000.
Reports say the Permanent Secretary, Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan, said “There was a small increase in boarding fees to enable proper upkeep of boarding facilities and provide top quality meals.”
Adding that “The increase was as a result of the economic downturn in the country.”
This is following complaints by the National Parents and Teachers Association of the Federal Government Colleges over the increase in fees of unity schools by the Federal Government.
