Despite defeat to Serbia,
The Super Eagles were defeated 2-0 by Serbia in an international friendly game played on Tuesday, March 27 at the Hive stadium.
Super Eagles captain Mikel was absent for the defeat as Aleksandar Mitrović scored both goals in the 68th and 81st minute to condemn Gernot Rohr’s side to their first defeat in 2018.
Mikel has, however, shown support for his teammates after the defeat as he urged them to look forward to their next preparatory matches for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The message on Mikel’s official Instagram account said, “The message said, You don't lose, you learn Looking forward to being back on the pitch for our remaining preparation games.”
Some other Super Eagles players have reacted to the defeat against Serbia.
Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi who was in action for 88 minutes against Serbia has also reacted to the Super Eagles loss.
Iwobi posted a message on his official Instagram which acknowledged his teammates, and the Supporters for the two international friendlies.
The message said, "A Lot Of Lessons To Learn From Yesterday, But Overall A Wonderful Week With My Super Eagles Family. Thank You To All Our Fans! Incredible As Usual! It’s An Honor To Represent You."
Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi who was also in action for 85 minutes posted on his official Instagram story after the match with a message but with a caption of emojis’ of the Super Eagles, the Nigerian flag.
The Super Eagles resume preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup when they take on DR Congo on Friday, May 25 in Nigeria.
