After several months of speculations,
Yusuf was the temporary coach of the Super Eagles before he was appointed as the Chief Coach.
As Chief Coach, the former Kano Pillars manager is to assist the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr.
According to Complete Sports, a deal was agreed at a meeting between the coach and NFF president Amaju Pinnick.
"I have been offered a contract as Super Eagles Chief Coach and I am pleased with it,” Yusuf told .
“I don't have problem with the NFF or the technical adviser and other officials of the Super Eagles, so I am happy to continue with the job,” he added.
Yusuf who has been working for several months without a contract refused to comment on if all his outstanding wages and allowances have been paid or the financial details of his contract.
“I am happy with the contract offer, I won't speak further on it," he said.
According to a September 2016 African Football report, Yusuf is to get a N5m-per-month deal.
