Nigerian striker moves to Danish club Vejle Boldklub

The Nigerian striker joins on a five month deal till the end of the season.

Utaka joins on a five-month deal that will see him in Denmark till the summer transfer window .

The club posted a picture of the Nigerian alongside a message on their official Twitter handle to confirm the signing of the striker.

The statement said, “VB has signed a contract with Peter Utaka until 30 June. June 2018. The 34-year-old Nigerian comes to VB after having last played in Japan and has trained with VB during the training camp in Turkey.”

Utaka spoke to the club's website about his delight upon completing the move.

''I know Vejle has a very talented team and there is great quality in the squad. I have seen this by myself during the last week's training.

''The club's owners know me and therefore I also know that the club's ambition level is high. Both for the coming half season and for the future in general” Utaka said.

The 34-year-old also spoke about giving his best to the team for the next five months.

"I have an ambition for the next five months in the red shirt and it is with the teammates to complete the important mission this spring. VB will be back in the top division in Denmark, where the club belongs''  he said.

Utaka is the younger brother of former Nigerian international and has a wealth of experience, as he has played for Maasmechelen, Westerlo, Royal Antwerp, OB, Dalian Aerbin, Beijing Guoan, Shanghai Shenxin, Shimizu S-Pulse,  Sanfrecce Hiroshima, and FC Tokyo

Utaka made a total of seven appearances for the Super Eagles and contributed three goals.
