Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi became the all-time goal scorer in Spanish Primera Liga on Saturday with a hat-trick against Sevilla.
Messi’s first from a free kick in the 22nd minute at Camp Nou on the night brought him level with former Athletic Bilbao man Telmo Zarra on 251 and added two more in the second half to take his tally to 253.
Telmo Zarra set his goals record at age 35 in 277 appearances for Bilbao whilst Messi achieved his feat in 289 games at the age of 27.
Lionel Messi now holds the record for leading goal scorer for club, Barcelona and the Spanish topflight.
