Aston Villa book final ticket with 2-1 victory over Liverpool

Benteke and Delph's goal ensure that Aston Villa are in the final of the FA Cup at the expense of Liverpool
 
 

Aston Villa dashed captain Steven Gerrard's hopes of finishing his Liverpool career with an FA Cup trophy as they won 2-1 in the second semi-final clash at Wembley.

In-form Philippe Coutinho fired Liverpool in front in the 30th minute, but Christian Benteke levelled the scoreline six minutes later.

After a cagey affair in the opening minutes of the second half, Fabian Delph hit Aston Villa's winning goal  in the 54th minute.

That was all Tim Sherwood's men needed to book a Wembly date on Saturday May 30 with holders Arsenal.

Arsenal reach their undefined with a 2-1 win over Reading.
