Iwobi was born in Lagos, Nigeria but moved to England and represented them at the U-16, U-17 and U-18 levels.
Even though he has been capped by Nigeria, the English FA are making an attempt to stop Iwobi from playing for the Super Eagles again.
The 19-year-old made his Super Eagles debut in a and is still eligible to play for England as he has not represented Nigeria in a competitive game.
According to the Mirror, England have been attracted by his form for Arsenal as he has become regular in the Gunners' first team set-up since the turn of the year.
The FA’s attempt might be too late as the forward who scored in Arsenal’s 2-0 win at Everton over the weekend was the first to arrive the Super Eagles camp in Abuja ahead of their double header against Egypt for the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
If he plays in these games, he will nolonger be eligible to play for any FIFA affiliated country including England.
