Responding to Hammer's claim that he will punish him, Afonja described his opponent as a boastful boxer, who will crumble when faced with a boxer of his own quality.

"I read what he said in the newspapers. He boasted that he has successfully defended his title five times, but I want to tell him that he will fail this time. He is a kid boxer and I will beat him like he is one," Afonja said.

Dedicated to the memory of legendary Muhammed Ali, Jenkins Alumona of Flykite Promotions stressed that the boxers will be fighting for a cash prize of N1m as well as the National Middleweight Title.

Sponsored by GOtv and supported by MultiChoice and SuperSport, the fight will be shown live in 47 African countries.
