We uncover Bigiano's plans to take over in ‘Tonight’

The video has certain symbols that indicate that Bigiano is back to lead the club music scene in Nigeria.

Bigiano

Bigiano recently released the visuals for his single ‘Tonight’. Pulse Music reported that the latest video appeared to have a cryptic message and a covert militia undertone to it.

The Nigerian singer’s music video filmed in Cape Town,South Africa was directed by Fanon Kabwe and Tim Drabandt who also did Loki Rothman’s ‘Clock’ video.

The video has certain symbols that indicate that Bigiano is back to lead the club music scene in Nigeria. Here's my quick examination of the hidden messages behind ‘Tonight’.

The crooner plays the role of a leader in this gothic clip, which embodies certain elements of African culture. The video begins with an owl and goes to a scene with a native doctor, immediately after this scene, Bigiano starts singing about how he "doesn't send". The pictures laid over this first verse of the song include a snake, goat horns and a dog.

In Greek mythology, owls are synonymous with the goddess of wisdom, Athena; they symbolize wisdom and knowledge. The goat horns also known as shofar are not just used as musical instruments; they are used to announce the end or start of a new era.

Bigiano has been in and out of the music scene for a while. After almost a year, he returned once again with ‘Tonight’. From my understanding of the video, he has been away gathering knowledge, working underground and doing research. Armed with this new intelligence, he returns to the industry and the horns announce his arrival. The snake symbolizes his rebirth and transformation as a strong force to watch out for. They say dogs are a man’s best friend. The dog in this video represents loyalty. In simple terms, he acknowledges those who have believed to him.

On verse two, he sings about his success in 2008 and 2009 and boasts about still being in the game. The gap between then and now is a bit of a long time in the music industry. In an interview with the Vanguard in 2010, his former Triple B members said he wouldn’t last because of his inconsistency. There are several people who had suggested that the ‘Shayo’ singer took a long hiatus from music because of lack of funds.

He makes it clear in his new song that he’s not broke. “My money long like tomorrow”, he declares.

“Kpoly go dey flow fire, shayo go dey flow like water.

Anything you want make your order

Cos I have everything to make u surrender”, he echoes this line from his famous song.

It almost appears as though there's some kind of battle going on in the video. Despite the fact there are different kinds of characters present, it seems as though those with similar features pick up spears against each other. Does this fight scene illustrate the beef in the music the industry today?

Drums are a big part of our culture, they compliment our ceremonies. The drummers in ‘Tonight’ celebrate the arrival of Bigiano. Throughout the video, there are scenes that flash to a hooded figure on an elevated quadrilateral pyramid-like platform. At the end of the video everyone gathers and looks up to this leader who we discover is Bigiano himself.

If we are to go by illuminati theorists, the burst of light that engulfs the singer at the end of the video may represent the illumination of a person and his future successes.

Since the release of his hit single ‘Shayo’ a few years back, none of his other tracks have attained the same level of success of ‘Shayo’ has, even his ‘Chillin’ track with Wizkid did not do as well as this song.

I'm pretty sure the ‘Shayo’ master has deliberately put out this video with symbols to get the attention of his fans and associates in the music industry. In conclusion, from my examination of this video, Bigiano is back and ready to lead the club music scene once again.
