5 Dead As Blast Hits Catholic Church In Kano State

The police say an improvised explosive device may have been thrown into the church

It was another tragic event in Kano state when a blast at St Charles Catholic Church, No Man’s Land, Sabon Gari district, killed at least 5 worshipers in the church, leaving 8 others injured.

The blast occurred after the church had held its Sunday mass.

According to eyewitnesses, the people affected may have been more than the confirmed number, with scores feared dead.

Reports say the blast was confirmed by the police spokesman, Frank Mba who said that the bomb was "probably an improvised explosive device thrown from across the street".

Sabon Gari district has suffered previous attacks by the terrorist sect, Boko Haram.
