Prayer is an amazing, but often disregarded gift from God.

It is a open line with the King of all Kings, and a way for Him to get us to see things in a different perspective.

Unfortunately, we get easily distracted or discouraged and forget to indulge in this gift.

Thankfully, we have the Word of God to remind us, at all times, of the amazing power and need for prayers.

Here are 10 times the Bible encourages us to use this wonderful gift.

1. 1 John 5:15; "And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him."

2. 1 Chronicles 16:11; "Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always."

3. 2 Chronicles 7:14; "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

4. Jeremiah 29:12; "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you."

5. James 5:13; "Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise."

6. Mark 11:24; "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

7. Matthew 6:7; "And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words."

Remember, not seeing results, does not mean things are not God is answering your prayers.
