There was no way the pope’s visit to the US would have be complete if he hadn’t take time out to meet the many survivors of sexual abuse by priests.
Pontiff meets victims of sexual abuse
He wants the victims to get justice, in other to maintain sanity in the church and in the society.
The Roman Catholic Church in the US has been embroiled in a series of child sex scandals, and US dioceses have made huge compensation pay-outs to victims in recent times.
Remember in June, after the UN strongly criticised the church for failing to stamp out abuse and for allowing cover-ups.
The Pope approved the creation of a tribunal to hear cases of bishops accused of covering up child abuse by paedophile priests.
Good news is, the Pope Francis has promised to "zealously" protect young people, he met and prayed with the five victims, three women and two men all now adults who had suffered sexual abuse as children at the seminary in Pennsylvania after carefully listening to their survival stories.
The pope "renewed his commitment" that "those responsible will be held accountable".
