The Islamic state (ISIS) has revealed its greatest enemy to be Pope Francis.

According to the terrorist group, the Catholic leader is a "non-believer" that defends homosexuality, and preaches a false message of peace and hope, Christian Today reports.

In a recent feature, headlined: "In the Words of the Enemy", ISIS says:

"While previous popes spoke against Islam due to the actual reality they faced, based on mutual enmity between the pagan Christians and monotheistic Muslims, recent popes – and especially Pope Francis – have attempted to paint a picture of heartwarming friendship, seeking to steer Muslim masses away from the obligation of waging jihad against disbelief.

Responding to the Pope's recent claim that "religions don't want war. The others want war," the terrorist group said, "the religion of Islam will continue to be spread by the sword."

This comes after the terrorist group threatened to attack London and Washington DC.
