In Isaiah 59, we are told that our sins separate us from our Heavenly Father, and prevents Him from hearing us.

"But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear." (Verse 2)

This summarises the power and consequences of sin, forcing us to see what our actions lead to.

Not only does sin separate us, it also leaves us in darkness, away from the light of God.

In this darkness, we left to our own devices, doing the same thing, over and over again, with no direction.

Thankfully, we have been offered a way out by the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

Like the woman was caught in the act of adultery, He wants us to know that there is no condemnation in Him, as long as we abandon our sinful lifestyle.

"When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stoneat her.”Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

“No one, sir,” she said. "Then neither do I condemn you,”Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” (John 8:7-11)

In verse 12, Jesus goes on to say, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Pulse readers, Jesus wants us to have a life, filled with His light, a light so strong that it takes away all condemnation, shame, sin.

This light is always there, ready to renew, transform us, taking us back with grace and hope.

However, this light can not exist with darkness, we have stop dwelling in sin, in order to fully take God's amazing light into our lives.

1 John 1:5-9 says, "This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will ."
